• It is experiential. Children are given opportunities for hands on engagement and are supported to come to their own levels of learning.

• It supports personalised learning. It focuses on children’s strengths and preferred learning styles (multiple intelligences) and does not use a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

• It encourages self-directed learning. This links into our philosophy of providing open ended, enquiry-based opportunities for all children (Little Scientist Program) allowing them to explore deeply the things that excite their interest and curiosity.

• It looks beyond the centre. It recognises the importance of parents, caregivers, community and family on the learning experience. It encourages active involvement and engagement from their varying communities.

• It is multi-faceted. It attributes importance across the 5 different developmental domains, recognising them as equally important to the development of the child. (Social, Emotional, Physical, communication, thinking)

• It has a strong focus on relationships. There is a particular importance based on those relationships between the educator and the child as they form secure attachments and close, trusting bonds necessary for learning.

• It is readies them for the world.
