🌿 Celebrating our Educators! 🌿
We’re excited to share that two of our Educators have been awarded Certificates in Playwork Practice, issued by Play Australia. 🎓✨
The internationally recognised training, based on Play Wales, explores the principles of playwork and how we can support children’s natural, self-directed play through thoughtful environments, loose parts, appropriate risk-taking and responsive educator intervention.
The course also covers the play cycle, dynamic risk–benefit assessment, children’s rights, reflective practice, advocacy and practical playwork skills.
We’re so proud of our Educators for continuing to build their knowledge and strengthen the ways we support play, exploration, agency and learning at Ruth Landau Harp. 💚
Well done!

🍎🍯 A special Rosh Hashanah lunch! 🍯🍎
Our Kindy 3s and 4s came together to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with a delicious shared lunch, beautifully decorated tables, sweet honey, apples and dates. We enjoyed fruit challah, roasted honey carrots, pomegranate and other delicious dishes while sharing wishes for health and happiness in the year ahead.
Gav Aviel also joined us to blow the shofar, our special spiritual alarm clock, reminding us to pause, reflect and think about how we can be kind to ourselves and one another.
Shanah Tovah!

🐝 Busy bees at RLH! 🐝
As part of our learning about Rosh Hashanah, we welcomed Jay from Messines Bee Farm in Northam, who helped us explore the fascinating relationship between bees and humans.
The children enjoyed a hands-on experience learning about life inside a hive from dressing up in beekeeper gear, using real tools, tasting fresh honey and even listening to thousands of real bees buzzing in their bee box! 🍯
We also discovered that a hive can be home to around 50,000 bees, each with an important role, from the Queen and Drones to the many Worker bees who clean, care for the hive, make wax, guard the colony and collect nectar and pollen.
We finished by talking about how we can help protect our buzzing friends by planting bee-friendly gardens, building bee hotels and looking after the natural spaces they depend on. 🌻🐝
A wonderful day of hands-on learning, curiosity and discovery! 💛

🌿 Congratulations Dani – Certified Bush Kinder Practitioner! 🌿
We are very proud to celebrate Dani, who has officially completed her Bush Kinder Certification with Early Life Foundations and is now a Certified Bush Kinder Practitioner! 🌳👏
This certification has involved completing three professional learning modules focused on:
🌱 Starting and establishing a quality outdoor learning program
🌱 Practical strategies for implementing Bush Kinder
🌱 Planning and documenting children’s learning in nature
The training has strengthened Dani’s knowledge and confidence in delivering meaningful nature-based learning, while also exploring the practical considerations that sit behind a successful Bush Kinder program – from planning and curriculum connections to supporting children to explore, take appropriate risks and develop a deeper relationship with the natural environment.
For us at RLH, this is about much more than completing a qualification.
Over the past year, we have continued to grow and embed our Bush Kindy program as an important part of the learning we offer our children. Investing in specialist professional development for our educators helps ensure the program is not simply an excursion into nature, but a purposeful, well-planned and sustainable part of our curriculum.
And Dani won’t be our only certified practitioner for long! 🌿
A further two RLH educators are currently completing the Bush Kinder Certification pathway, building greater knowledge and capability across our team and helping us embed Bush Kindy into our practice for the long term.
Congratulations Dani – we are so proud of the commitment, enthusiasm and expertise you continue to bring to our children and our Bush Kindy journey. 💚🌳

Awesome Dani!
This week, we were so excited to welcome a very special guest to RLH! Hila from PJ Library flew all the way to Perth to share a very special story time with our children.
The children were captivated from beginning to end, getting hands-on with the characters and experiencing storytelling in a truly immersive and multi-sensory way.
It was such a wonderful way to bring stories, imagination and Jewish learning to life.
A huge thank you to PJ Library Victoria & Beyond for creating such a memorable experience for our children. We loved having you visit us!
