The Kindy 3 and Kindy 4 children celebrated Rosh Hashanah with a Seder in the PHC foyer today! Miss Kelli, Miss Ortal, and Morah Rachel set up a beautiful Seder table upstairs with placemats that the children created. Creating a beautiful environment adds to how special our Rosh Hashanah Seder is, elevating the experience for our children.

We lit candles and said the bracha for candles, and had some yummy grape juice after saying ‘borei pri ha’gafen’.

Morah Rachel walked us through tasting symbolic foods for Rosh Hashanah, the simanim. Each food represents something we want to take into the new year with us; apples and honey bring a sweet new year. We tasted roasted carrots, leek patties that the Kindy 3 children made yesterday with Miss Dani, roasted pumpkin, dates, beans, and delicious apples and honey! 🍯 The children were so excited to try all the new food and share their thoughts with their friends and educators.

The children baked challah earlier in the morning. We sang our washing hands song and said ha’motzi. Our challah was special today, it had sultanas and honey in it. It was so yummy and sweet.

Celebrating our Seder together was wonderful, to see the children delight in our Jewish celebrations and customs.

Happy Early Childhood Educators Day! A huge thank you to all of our team at RLH, for the energy, passion and love you all bring to educating and caring for the children of RLH every day! It is a testament to you all, when we see so many happy, confident and engaged little humans enjoying their days at RLH. Today has been an extra opportunity to celebrate you all. We had Perk Up With Me - Mobile Coffee come along to provide delicious drinks to the staff throughout the lunch break period. Thank you to The Kosher Providore for the incredible (and so decadent!) cake you baked! Lots of additional snacks provided in the staff room too! Thank you to so many of our families who wrote messages to acknowledge and celebrate the educators, It has been lovely to read them all!
